Sam Lakmann is a composer, arranger and performer currently residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for music composition, Sam has split his time composing new works and performing with several groups around the midwest. Notable premieres include Four Short Etudes, performed by Dr. Nicholas Phillips for the 2020 La Crosse Virtual New Music Festival, Entropy for wind ensemble performed by UWEC’s Wind Symphony (2021), 3.12 performed by Dr. Sarah Manasreh at the University of Wisconsin-Steven’s Point (2021), and Non Tempus performed by UWEC’s Symphony Orchestra (2022). Sam played keys with Uncommon Denominator from 2021-2025, a group that has been voted #1 BEST COVER BAND in Volume One Magazine’s “Best Of The Chippewa Valley” Reader’s Poll over four consecutive years. Since relocating to Milwaukee, Sam has performed frequently with the Pocket Kings out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Sad House Guest in Chicago, and with his sister, Lexie Lakmann (https://lexielakmann.com/).
